People often ask me why I started Summer Adventure Program…and honestly, it came from an uncertain moment in my families life.
A local preschool that I had worked at - a place that had been part of this community for over 40 years - announced they were closing and the owner was retiring. Like so many other parents, we suddenly found ourselves wondering what we were going to do for my daughter’s summer before kindergarten.
At the same time, something inside me kept telling me this was more than just a stressful situation…it was a turning point.
I had owned a dance studio for 10 years, worked with children my entire adult life, and deep down I knew this might be my opportunity to build something of my own again. Something meaningful. Something magical for children and families.
I spent weeks calling, emailing, and visiting what felt like every possible location imaginable trying to find a place where this dream could actually happen. I remember getting the call from Pastor Tony saying they had space available for all the weeks we needed. I was overwhelmed with excitement…and completely terrified at the same time. Because suddenly, this wasn’t just an idea anymore. It was real. And now I actually had to make it happen.
Fast forward to now, as we enter our SECOND summer season, and I truly cannot believe what this has grown into.
What started from uncertainty became a place filled with laughter, friendships, dance parties, muddy hands, adventures, creativity, and memories that I hope our children will carry forever.
To every parent who believed in us from the beginning, every friend and family member who encouraged us, shared our posts, helped set up, donated toys, cleaned, worked, organized, supported, and cheered us on…and especially to my loving husband…thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This program was built with love, heart, and a whole lot of faith. And we are just getting started. 💛☀️🌿
