🤎🐎 LET’S CELEBRATE NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWGIRL 🐎🤎

The cowgirl has a history that runs much deeper than a saddle and a wide-brimmed hat. 🤎

Long before the cowgirl became a symbol, women were riding alongside the working West—helping work cattle, tending ranches, raising families, building businesses and, in many cases, managing land and livestock of their own.

The traditions of horsemanship and cattle work that shaped the American West were deeply influenced by Mexican vaqueros, and women soon became an important part of that Western story too. From ranch women and pioneers to Wild West performers and rodeo competitors, cowgirls carved out their own place in history.

And when women were pushed to the sidelines of professional rodeo, they didn’t stay there. Texas cowgirls like Nancy Binford and Thena Mae Farr helped create opportunities for women to compete, eventually laying the foundation for women’s professional rodeo as we know it today.

So when we talk about the spirit of the cowgirl, we’re talking about more than the woman on the horse.

We’re talking about the women who worked hard, endured hard seasons, raised families, built businesses, cared for their communities, and kept moving forward when the trail wasn’t easy.

That spirit didn’t disappear with the women who came before us. They passed it down.

The spirit of the cowgirl is still alive—in all of us. 🤎🐎

For the women who came before us, the women riding beside us, and the girls growing up to carry it forward.

🤠 THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING SPONSORS…82 years strong—and still going! ❤️

We truly could not put on our Roughstock Rodeo in June and Ranch Rodeo in September without your support!

Your sponsorship goes directly back into the Bar-None grounds, helping us maintain and improve our facilities. This summer, we painted the east stands, reworked the north pens, and added a new announcer stand and concession stand the last several years, along with ongoing repairs to our fences, chutes, bathrooms, and grounds.

Your support also allows us to give back to the Plainview community by donating to F.I.S.H., 4-H, and the Hale County Stock Show Buyers Club, allowing schools to use the arena for functions, and helping us put on other community events throughout the year.

It takes an amazing group of people to keep everything going and maintained at the Bar-None each year. We are incredibly thankful for our sponsors, volunteers, and all the helping hands in our community who help us continue this tradition.

❤️ Be a part of something great in our community! Join us, volunteer, or have your business become a sponsor.

🤠 Bar-None Rodeo — A Tradition Worth Thanking

As another year comes to a close for the Bar-None Rodeo Association, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU. ❤️

To our incredible sponsors throughout Plainview and the West Texas area—we could not do this without you. Your support allows us to continue a tradition that has been a part of Hale County for 82 years.

For eight decades, the Bar-None has been more than just a rodeo. It’s a place where tradition, Western culture, family, and community come together. Generations of families have grown up coming to the rodeo, making memories, cheering from the stands, and passing those stories down to the next generation.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people—contestants, stock contractors, photographers, volunteers, sponsors, and rodeo fans—all who have played a part in making the Bar-None what it is today.

Every year brings new faces, new stories, and new memories…while still holding onto the traditions that make this rodeo so special.

To everyone who has supported, participated in, volunteered for, photographed, sponsored, or simply showed up to cheer us on—THANK YOU.

We are incredibly grateful for each of you and proud to be part of this West Texas tradition.

82 years strong. 🤠❤️
Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the traditions we’re carrying on, and the generations still to come.

Thank you for making the Bar-None Ranch Rodeo a part of your story. 🐎🇺🇸
