Saw “Once upon a time...in Hollywood” last evening at the Nugget. It was a total revelation—especially for those of us born in the 1945-1960 years. Quentin Tarrantino always goes too far, but not in this film. It’s astonishing: what it tells us about our times, and who we are as individuals. Every aspect of the film, from casting to cinematography, brilliantly supports the content.

Went to Opera North’s “Pirates of Penzance” today: stupendous production. At Blow Me Down here in Cornish, under the circus tent. Fabulous music, vocals, actors, dancers, and the ever-delightful Gilbert and Sullivan! Opera North’s productions are among the best highlights of every year!! Congratulations to Louis Burkot, Evan Haille, and all the performers.

Hello! It is with sadness that we complete The Complete Hoot here. What a wonderful time we had, Jerry and I, with supporting and publicizing the many extraordinary arts in our region over the years since we began the paper in 2006. Being able to attend the terrific events was fabulous (with very, very few exceptions—in fact, I can't think of even one!), and being in contact with you all was so uplifting! The best of everything to everyone in our readership, as you play your role in expanding and celebrating the arts in the Upper Valley! With gratitude and affection, Jo
