Swain Gallery is located in a wonderful Victorian house in the Crescent Historic Distric of Plainfield, NJ. For four generations the Swain family has presided over New Jersey's oldest privately owned art establishment. The gallery contains various rooms filled with a wide variety of original artwork (oils, watercolors, pastels, etc.), signed limited edition lithographs, hand colored engravings, re

productions, and posters. The framing room is lined with an extensive selection of framing samples that range from museum quality, to simple metal. Swain's quality reputation in framing is known throughout the metropolitan area, and beyond. The gallery tables are covered with giftware and decorative items, from fine china and crystal, porcelain and brass, to note paper, and cards. Swain Galleries is truly a unique shopping experience. From the expert framing, restoration and art consultation services, to the array of giftware and decorative accesories, or simply the welcoming pot of coffee on the antique stove, one can easily understand what kept people coming back over the many years for serious buying or just browsing.
