This is my aunt Donna. She attended night 1 of the one and only Deer Creek Fair. $12 to see Garth Brooks with her best friend. I later went that week with my family and rode rides in the parking lot. My cousin found this today and shared it with me. Donna has been gone from our lives for almost 21 yrs. But she’s around us every now and then.

Deer Creek has been a huge part of my life. From going to the Deer Creek fair when I was 10 years old in 1991, to getting my first job in 1999 in the maintenance department for a couple years, to becoming a stagehand in 2008. Now owning & operating the labor company for that same place.

Tomorrow will be 10 years that I’ve been running 317 Productions. But this summer will be 35 yrs that Deer Creek has been in my life…summer after summer. Thanks Ben Friedman for letting me captain the ship.

Please download the GasBuddy app! Especially if you are working all over right now. I just got gas for $4.18 at Marathon a mile away from my house. While the gas by my house was $4.89.

Carpooling to gigs is smart as hell for the next few weeks. If you do carpool, don’t be a dick. Meet the person driving at their house. Give them gas money, or swap who drives each day. It’s a privilege to have a friend that will help you get to work. Treat it as such.

This summer is looking full! If you plan on coming back for the 2026 concert series this summer, reply to this post, shoot me an email or text me, Jo Friedman. I’ll be opening the WHEN I WORK app back up the first week of May. If you worked last summer, please check your email in the next coming days. You may receive an email from my production assistant, Elissa. Check you spam/junk, just in case. She will be reaching out to the 2025 employees to see who will be returning, unless we hear from you first! Which would be very helpful since there are a lot of you.

You do NOT need to contact me if you work corporate in the off season.

If you’d like to work as a stagehand and have some experience, please email Elissa, [email protected] and she can get you some more information.

Can’t wait to see all of you! The winter goes by so fast.

20 years ago today 317 Productions did its 1st production gig. What started as a way for myself & my friends to get some additional work in the off season quickly grew to what it is today.
There are still a few people working for us today that were on that gig.
From the bottom of my heart I want thank every employee, client & industry friend that helped & stuck by 317 Productions for the last 20 years.
