You Can Count On Me

My friend you can always count on me
If you’re lost in dark or just feeling down
If a day comes you find you need someone
To comfort or listen and no one is around

I’ll listen to the battles, pain in your soul
Of loss or betrayals that leave you cold
If it’s Anguish that has left you reeling
Don’t be afraid to show your feelings

You may not get all the why or reason
That this shoulder can always found
Arms to comfort if you’re feeling down
Words to encourage or ear to just listen

One hand ready to wipe away your tears
Words softly spoken to calm your fears
I’ve asked the question why I remain here,
Will my loyalty fade with months and years?

Being honest and real is how I choose to be
In respect, I understand you need to fly free
Truth is it’s not about what we want to see
Love is about what a cherished soul needs

I’m here for YOU BECAUSE;

When I was hopeless you were my friend
You gave me direction for healing to begin
Changing my life with a touch of your hand
Painfully, you have taught me to love again

In my heart, the flame of my love will stay
There is no other that’ll ever turn me away
There’s nothing any person could ever say
To regret our time or turn my back one day

You saw my scars and my flaws as well
When you could were there each time I fell
Helping me find my own strength to heal
Tenderly opened my numbed heart to feel

Because of you I’m at peace as here I stand
I Promise forever you’re safe in these hands
No judgment,no fear, I’ve no room to condemn
For I too have made mistakes my dear friend

I’m so grateful for you and I’ll always be here
Promise in a fake world, I’ll be honest and real
You can Count on me, if loss or fear you feel
As our days fade to memories thru the years

Leave Each Day Behind

At the end of every day, What is there left to do?
You must search your soul, looking deep inside of you
Relive each moment, the good & bad, the joy & pain
Be grateful you're alive & Thank God for all you gain
And Did you Cherish those who love & care for you?
Did you speak in kindness & with words of truth?
If you spoke in anger or said something in haste
Ask them for forgiveness, own your own mistakes
Is your soul at peace, no anger or pain you find?
If so forgive them, lay it down, leave it all behind
As you lay down to sleep just leave this day & rest
Knowing in your heart you've done your very best
If we all faced the mirror before we rest our minds
We'd all live a happy life if we left each day behind

Mysterious Soul

Birds tweet their love song one late May eve
Warm breeze announces winter’s taken leave
Gold orb sinking in brilliant pink western skies
Two souls cross paths on their journey thru life

His smile melted a cold long neglected heart
Eyes mirror two survivor’s bearing deep scars
Under masks of hope souls dance time away
Hearts spark, catching fire as we parted ways

He’s now an enigma who still haunts my mind
Arms reaching endlessly for one I can’t find
In my dreams his voice speaks soft in my ear
While strong arms shelter me from all my fears

Mysterious soul who eludes all reason & rhyme
As I hear your voice thru my phone time to time
Sun awakens me at the birth of each new day
Where my mind longs to understand your ways

Answers to questions infinity holds in her hands
Leaving my soul to long for just one last dance
As I gaze into your eyes, mirrors of your soul
I’ll find why I long to know your heart & soul ©

Sometimes peace comes in the form of accepting that life isn't turning out the way you thought it would....

By accepting this you aren't giving up on anything necessarily, but you ask yourself deeper questions.

Is what's happening simply a life situation or is it my life?

Most often the things that upset us are life situations. They are challenging and they are of relative importance but no situation is of utmost importance.

Ask yourself if you need to do anything or is this something that's out of your control?

If it requires action, take a step back and look at the life situation for what it really is. Because our thoughts tend to start up a hyperactive narrative and turn a very simple situation into a huge situation.

When you step back for a moment, and you ask yourself if it needs action, then yes, you start using your mind to think again, but now your thinking starts from awareness.
