We are pleased to present the fourth of our four Featured Artists for June, TRISH RICKARD. Trish is a jewelry designer, fabricator, and Certified Master Gemologist who frames her silver and gemstone jewelry creations to showcase their natural beauty. Her unique and wearable pieces of art and cabochons often feature her favorite stones with naturally occurring formations of texture and color that create mini landscapes, which she calls "Mother Nature's Artistry."

The third of our four Featured Artists for June is PHIL LACHAPELLE. Phil's greatest influence comes from nature. He derives particular enjoyment when painting the textures of trees, barns, foliage, and water reflections. He describes his painting as "realistic impressionist" - enriching his California scenes of Yosemite, the Sierra, the California Gold Country, and the Wine Country. His visits to Italy's Northern Lakes District, France's Tuscany, and Belgium heavily inspired him with their architecture, color, and textures. But you can also see inspiration from all of his travels through his stunning artwork.

The second of our four Featured Artists for June is DAWN JOHNSON. Dawn began her artwork with the initial desire to become a palette knife artist. Unable to find an instructor during the Covid pandemic, she accidentally came across Fluid Art while watching YouTube videos and immediately fell in love with the art form. This style of artwork could never be exactly duplicated, so each one is truly one of a kind. She works with acrylics, resin and alcohol ink to create her stunning cutting boards and plaques. Sharing her studio with her feline rescue operation, she says she's extremely fortunate to do the two things she loves so much and is so passionate about.

The first of our Featured Artists for June is TERRIE GRAY. Terrie started her professional life as a science teacher, but now, as a photographer, her goal is to share the beauty of the natural world and to help increase the appreciation and protection of wild animals and spaces. She is drawn to funny, exciting, or special animal behavior, as well as landscapes with unusual lighting, and exquisitely detailed structures of plants. She is also a certified scuba diver, an award-winning underwater photographer, and a publisher author.

Our fourth Featured Artist for May is RANDY MITCHELL, a historian and history teacher whose whimsical wooden projects are inspired by the folk art of yesterday. Much of his art is inspired by things he has done as a living history re-enactor and member of the Placerville Hangtown Marshals. His specialty is charmingly kinetic, toy-like artwork, posable bears, small dioramas, and business card holders. But one never knows what other surprising things his imagination may come up with! Visit our gallery on SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2026, FROM 5 PM UNTIL 8 PM, ENJOY OUR REFRESHMENTS AND WINE POURED BY CRYSTAL BASIN WINERY - PLUS MEET OUR FOUR FEATURED ARTISTS IN PERSON!

LORRENE BAUM-DAVIS’ art clay and polymer mediums fused with glass, gold flakes, welding, and lathe work enable our third Featured Artist for May to create her striking, one-of-a-kind wearable art jewelry with organic forms, rich textures and colors. She also creates small, charming creatures of polymer clay which she calls Whimseys that one might imagine living in a pair of boots, a hatbox, or dancing among the wildflowers in a garden.
