At the Shingle Springs Community Center, music is on the “bill-of-fare” this summer. A Second Saturday concert is set for June 11, 2022, featuring “The Steven Graves Band” and the return of singer/songwriter “Jenn Rogar”.
Steven Graves has been “raising a lot of local dust” lately as he swings his band through El Dorado County. “The Steven Graves Band” is an Americana Roots band, based out of Santa Cruz, CA. This road-tested group has been bringing their unique brand of high energy original music to audiences throughout the West Coast for the last 7+ years. If that’s not enough, they have a legacy of 9 CDs of mostly original music, released since 2010. Steven's latest CD, "All Alone", is approaching 90,000 streams on Spotify. Steven's YouTube channel has over 100,000 views. His social media contact list has over 30,000 individuals. Steven has been recognized for his accomplishments in many arenas, including the Native American Music Awards and Americana Music Charts. He has also worked with Dennis McNally, the Grateful Dead publicist, for the last six years. This has expanded the band's fan base in the “Dead” and jamband circles. “The Steven Graves Band” will assuredly have the Shingle Springs crowd up and dancing, singing along for a joyous concert experience, that the Second Saturday Concerts are famous for at the Single Springs Community Center.
Opening the show is Jenn Rogar. Jenn Rogar is a contemporary Folk Singer and Songwriter. She was a Sacramento “Sammie” award-nominee in 2019. She will soon be releasing her third album, “Bee Love”, this Summer 2022. Jenn teamed up with a musical partner and drummer, Fred Nelson Jr., (formerly of the band “Oleander’) in 2014. Her new album is arranged by Fred and David Houston of Moon Studios (recognized for Tone! Toni! Tone! and Club Nouveau). Jenn’s albums can be heard on Spotify and on CD, including a “Place Called Humanity” (2008) and “The River” (2013). Jenn’s new album will also be available on vinyl.
Jenn calls home in beautiful Mount Shasta, CA. Her songs called “Shasta“, “The River” and “Panther Meadow “are on that topic. Jenn’s songs are about nature and social justice, as well as love, family and good humor.
Doors at the Center open at 6:30. Jenn Rogar starts at 7:00 and The Steven Graves Band takes the stage at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to the Second Saturday Concert events. It is indoors. There is a friendly potluck bill-of-fare. BYOB, guests may bring their own spirits. The $15 suggested donation at the door goes directly to the performers and helps maintain the historic Shingle Springs Community Center. Pay online at SSCC or at the door.
