Bossov Ballet Theatre at MCI

Bossov Ballet Theatre at MCI Bossov Ballet Theatre at Maine Central Institute is both a performing company and an international pre-professional ballet school.

Bossov Ballet Theatre at Maine Central Institute

The Bossov troupe includes dancers of many ages and levels of experience. Dancers who attend MCI during the school day are eligible to receive full academic credit for ballet training. All BBT students, regardless of whether or not they attend MCI, train after school and with professional dancers who come to BBT to appear in guest roles. The exper

ience of performing on stage with large casts of older and younger dancers is an invaluable opportunity for aspiring dancers. BBT founders named the theatre and school for Andrei Bossov, the company's first Artistic Director. He is a 20-year veteran of performing internationally with St. Petersburg's Kirov Ballet, in which he attained ballet's highest rank, Principal Dancer, at the early age of twenty-one, only two years after joining the company. Only five percent of the company's dancers were carried as principals and only one percent of all who auditioned for the Kirov when Bossov auditioned were accepted.

Back to the studio!

Today we officially started classes for the new academic year at Bossov Ballet Theatre at Maine Central Institute

A new year means another opportunity to keep moving forward — strengthening our technique, building artistry, and continuing to grow one class at a time.

We’re excited for all the work, progress, and dancing ahead.

Welcome back, dancers! 🩰

For a serious young dancer, pursuing ballet should not mean putting a strong education aside.

At Bossov Ballet Theatre at MCI, students train year-round in the Vaganova method, perform in fully staged productions, and complete a college-preparatory high school education - all on the same campus at Maine Central Institute.

We are currently welcoming inquiries and video auditions for Fall 2026 from students ready for serious ballet training and the full experience of MCI’s supportive day and boarding school community.

For dedicated ballet students, Bossov Ballet Theatre at MCI offers serious pre-professional ballet training within a supportive college-preparatory boarding school community in Maine.

At MCI, students do not have to choose between advanced ballet training and a complete high school experience. BBT students train daily while building a strong academic record, living in a close boarding community, and developing the discipline, focus, and resilience that can help them stand out in college, conservatory, and life beyond high school.

Boarding applications are still being reviewed for Fall 2026. Families interested in Bossov Ballet Theatre at MCI are encouraged to connect with Admissions and learn more today:

And just like that... another Summer Intensive comes to an end. 🩰

Over the past two weeks, this wonderful group of dancers embraced every challenge with dedication, resilience, and a genuine love for ballet. They arrived as individuals from different places, and they leave as a company that supported one another and created something big together.

Friday's presentation of Don Quixote marked the conclusion of our 2026 Summer Intensive. In less than two weeks, these dancers learned, rehearsed, and performed a one-act version containing more than half of this beloved classical ballet - an ambitious challenge that they embraced with determination.

To our students, thank you for your trust and the joy you brought into our studios every day.

To our faculty, staff, volunteers, families, sponsors, and everyone who supports this program, thank you for making these two weeks possible.

We are incredibly proud of what this group accomplished together.

Until next summer. ❤️

One week ago, most of these dancers had never met each other.
Today, they shared their work and the results of a very intensive week together. 🩰💐

This afternoon, we said goodbye to our one-week workshop participants after an intense week of classes, rehearsals, challenges, and growth. We hope that the lessons learned during these days—both in ballet and in life—will continue to accompany them long after they return home.

A heartfelt thank you to our faculty, Andrea Michaud Tracy and Vladimir Kuzkin, for sharing their knowledge, experience, and passion with our students. 👏

And a very special thank you to the soul and heart of this program, our Artistic Director, Ms. Natalya Getman. Her dedication to her students goes far beyond teaching steps and choreography. She pours her heart, energy, and love for this art form into every class, every rehearsal, and every dancer who walks through our doors. The impact she leaves on these young artists is difficult to measure, but impossible to miss.✨

As we say goodbye to one group, we continue forward with those staying for the second week of the intensive. The work continues as we prepare a miniature version of Don Quixote, which will be presented on Friday, June 26 at 3:00 pm at the Nokomis High School Theater in Newport.

We look forward to sharing the next chapter of this journey and hope to see many of you there.

Yesterday, the studios were empty... Today, they were full!

Music, movement, sweat, corrections, new friendships, and a lot of hard work.

The first day of the 2026 Summer Intensive is in the books, and our dancers started strong. From the youngest students to the most advanced, the energy and enthusiasm in the studios was wonderful to see.

There is still a lot of work ahead. Over the next two weeks, we will take on the big challenge of preparing a miniature version of the ballet Don Quixote. Watching the process unfold is always one of the most rewarding parts of the summer.

Stay tuned to see what this group creates!

The wait is almost over.

Students are in the air, on the road, and arriving from different parts of the world as check-in for the 2026 Bossov Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive is now underway.

The studios are ready. The dormitories are filling. New friendships are about to begin.

Tomorrow morning, 35 dancers will step into the studio to begin two weeks of training, creativity, discipline, and artistic growth.

For now, we welcome, we prepare, and we look forward to the journey ahead.

Welcome to BBT Summer Intensive 2026!!!🩰

✨ Just a few more days...

As we prepare to welcome a new group of dancers to the 2026 Bossov Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, we wanted to share a moment from last year's final performance.

Over two weeks, students from across the United States, Mexico, Japan, and Brazil will come together at Maine Central Institute to train, create, perform, and challenge themselves in the studio.

The Summer Intensive has always been one of our favorite times of the year — a chance to build friendships across cultures, work intensely on artistic growth, and create something meaningful in a very short period of time.

This video features an original choreography by Artistic Director Natalya Getman, performed during last summer's final presentation at the Collins Center for the Arts

We are excited to begin another chapter next week and can't wait to share the journey of this year's dancers with all of you.

Stay tuned as we welcome this year's Summer Intensive dancers! 🩰
