Spent the day with Anthony Phillips, Heidi Jensen North, and Jeff North recording the amazing Kate St John for Jensen and Company MUSIC. We followed it up with a meal with Richard Macphail. Good times.

Congrats to Katie Dobbins on the release of her new single, Just Cause I Can, produced, recorded, and mixed here at Rocking Horse by Brian, Josh, and Katie. The song features performances from Myron KB, Eric Wagley, and Brian Coombes from Rocking Horse Music Club, our good friend Chris Noyes, and Katie herself (of course). We have a few more of Katie's tunes in production, so we're just getting started.

You can find Just Cause I Can wherever you listen to your music these days. We hope you'll check it out.

Brian Coombes is currently doing sessions in England with Heidi Jensen North. Work has included time at Abbey Road Studios Studio 2, where we recorded Brian’s string arrangement for one of Heidi’s songs, Kate St John’s oboe and cor anglais, drums, piano, and lots of other stuff. Our work also took us to a church in Acton to record our good friends at Sing Gospel.

The New England Music Awards have announced its nominees for this year's awards, and we're proud to say that Rocking Horse Studio and our friends are well-represented.

Our own Brian Coombes and Josh Kimball have both received Producer of the Year nominations. This is Brian's eighth nomination; he won the award back in 2015. This is Josh's second nomination.

Dakota Smart is up for three awards this year, including Album of the Year (Leap of Faith), Song of the Year (Lovely Lady), and Male Performer of the Year. We are proud to have produced Leap of Faith and Lovely Lady along with Dakota.

Rocking Horse Music Club's lead singer Justin Cohn is up for two awards for his solo work. He has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Male Performer of the Year.

And we have also worked with a Female Performer of the Year nominee, Karen Grenier Music.

Our fantastic session violinist Jenna Yagjian is up for Rising Star - Massachusetts for her own music.

We're also proud to have worked with artists in a variety of genres over the past year, including Andriana: American-Ukrainian Singer (World Music), Kenwood Metajam Allstars (Jazz), Purging Sin (Hard Rock/Metal), and Mindset Xband (Hard Rock/Metal).

Congrats to all the nominees. It's encouraging to see the New England Music scene vibrant and alive.
