It’s been a while so I thought I would reintroduce myself, what drives my work, and what I do.  My name is Jen and I am the artist behind jenisforlove.  The brand and artist name jenisforlove is a promise to promote love in all its forms, from self love to love for others.

From the vibrant world of Lisa Frank to the humor of The Simpsons and the magic of Disney, art has been my passion since childhood. Books, comics, and animation were my entrance to art and imagination. Lisa Frank contained everything that I was into: pink, animals, and just plain fun! The Simpsons had the pop culture references. Disney was all Disney. I want to reconnect with my influences in my artwork, so I'm in my sketchbook and experiment with all the fun things era. Let's gooooo!

This is my studio assistant, Mora. She has been working with me for four years, and has hated my singing voice ever since, but in a sweet way. She supervises the studio, distracts me as much as possible, and sometimes becomes my muse.

Story time! Jurassic Park is the first movie that I vividly remember seeing in a theater. And being both thrilled and terrified. It’s pretty much the only thing I remember from second/third grade besides summer camp. The dinosaurs, the soundtrack, the action! It holds a special place in my memory from that theater experience, and from when I drew this same image in high school, also with me inserted, but 16 years old.

The last time I went home for the holidays, I looked in my high school portfolio for my colored pencil version of this drawing, but it was missing! I can’t believe I didn’t save one of my favorite drawings! I kept thinking about it and decided to make a more modern, digital version in Procreate, so here we are!

Februllage Day 24: Song. I was inspired by Fall For Me by Sleep Token. The cliff and the butterfly represent falling in love, and the flowers=the garden that takes work and nurturing to bear beauty.
