Act One Theatre School - Pittsburgh Since 1986, ACT ONE Theatre School has offered Pittsburgh area students the finest foundations in theatre education.

We provide a comprehensive, student-oriented program which develops skills, fosters creativity and provides success experiences for all involved. The school year program consists of a semester of process-oriented classes focusing on skill development, and a semester of production-oriented classes focusing on the presentation of a fully-produced musical. Every child is used extensively in the produ

ctions! Every child is equally encouraged and cherished! ACT ONE Theatre School students are encouraged to develop their skills and to take performance risks in an atmosphere of acceptance and fun. Motivated by excellent literature, sensitive instructors, and high quality performance expectations, these students blossom in professionalism, critical ability and self-confidence.

TICKET INFORMATION
Cast 2 tickets for Saturday are automatically being applied to Sunday.
Cast 3 tickets for Sunday at 6pm will apply to the 3:30pm Sunday performance.
Cast 4 tickets. At this time, Saturday’s tickets are being applied to the Monday performance. We know that this may not work for all. Please email [email protected] if you have an issue with tickets.

We had an amazing first weekend of shows, and we are so excited to be back for Week 2 of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Come out and enjoy a musical full of color, energy, and catchy songs featuring Act One Theatre School’s students in grades 2 - 8!

Prop reveal!!!

We have so many fun design and tech elements in this musical. Set, lights, sound, costumes, props, mics… there are so many pieces that take a show from rehearsal to performance.

Opening show is this coming Thursday, May 28! Go, Go, Go, Joseph!

Our casts have been working hard for months! But now it’s time to “close the door” to our rehearsal spaces and start tech week in the theatre 🚪

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be running at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center from May 28 - June 7. We hope to see you there! 🤗

Featuring our 5th-12th Grade Summer Camp!

This action-packed curriculum is geared toward training the artist as creator and performer. The camp will culminate in a final production where every student will shine with a featured role! 

🗓️ June 15 - July 10, 2026
⏰ Monday-Friday • 9AM-4PM
🎭 Performances: Friday, July 9 & 10 • 7PM

Students will learn: Musical theatre and acting scene study, large and small group voice, monologues, development and performance of an original work, acting for the camera, musical theatre audition technique, script and lyric writing, world drumming, musical theatre dance styles including jazz and musical theatre production.
