Society of Sculptors

Society of Sculptors SOS is a member organization, founded in 1935, consisting of sculptors and appreciators of sculpture in the Pittsburgh region.

The Society of Sculptors was established in 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and presented its first exhibition in that year. The Society was one of the founding organizations in the formation of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, formerly the Arts and Crafts Center. “SOS”, as it is commonly referred to, is one of the oldest groups promoting sculpture, locally, regionally and nationally. From its inception it has had as a goal the encouragement and nurturing of new talent in the field of sculpture.
