Educating, inspiring, and fostering a lifelong love of music for students in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

The Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra exists to provide an opportunity for dedicated young musicians from the Greater Pittsburgh area to be exposed to richly varied repertory and performance venues. PYPO provides the members of the orchestra with challenges that will encourage their capabilities, enrich their social lives, involve them in the community, and promote leadership. The quality of

their musical performances, the long term commitment to the orchestra by many of the musicians and the large number of alumni who continue their musical careers after graduating both professionally as well as personally, are a tribute to the effectiveness of the program.

PYPO found its forte in Italy! 🇮🇹🎶

Our 2026 Italy Tour took us across the Veneto, Toscana and Lombardia regions where we:

• Performed in 3 magnificent venues
• Explored 8 beautiful towns
• Walked 20,000 steps a day
• Enjoyed spectacular Italian cuisine and plenty of gelato

Thank you, Italy, for the music, memories, and inspiration and to our tour management company ACFEA Tour Consultants for making this happen and ensuring it’s a success!
