PYSO Greece Travel Diaries Day 8️⃣

Our first full day in Athens!

Today, PYSO had the luxury of traveling along the scenic coast to Cape Sounion where the remains of the Temple of Poseidon stand.

Along our travels we stopped for lunch in Luarium and made our way to La Plaka for learning, exploring, and shopping.

We ended our night with an exciting treat from Zafiro’s: a theatrical Greek dinner experience. From learning dances to smashing plates… there was never any dull moment. We are so of our victor Evan Lavallee for his ability to sweep up plates at lightning speed.

The moment we have been waiting for is about to arrive, our final performance in Athens! Stay tuned for a great day tomorrow.

PYSO Greece Travel Diaries Day 7️⃣

PYSO is gearing up for its final performance here in Greece with a day full of travel and later immersing ourselves in the bustling city life of Athens!

When traveling from Volos to Athens, PYSO made a significant stop to the site of Delphi where we toured the ruins and the museum. There, we only scratched the surface of the site visiting temples, churches, and discovered an abundance of artifacts that have been unearthed in excavation efforts.

PYSO Greece Travel Diaries Day 5️⃣ + 6️⃣

Another 2 days have gone by and we embarked on a short stay in the city of Volos.

PYSO toured the city of Volos, walking through historic churches, along the coast, and enriching ourselves in the stories of Jason and the Argonauts 🐑🛶

After this, PYSO enjoyed the scenic splendor of the mountainous city, Makrinitsa. Makrinitsa is a tucked away garden in the Pelion mountains full of scenic views, flowing fresh water, and stunning heights 🌄

Following this experience, PYSO entertained a full house in the Nea Ionia Cultural Center Open Air Theatre. The audience response to our encore performance of Nikos Skalkottas “Mazochtos” was unmatched

Congratulations to all musicians on another magnificent concert! 🎉

Today: PYSO spent the day traveling to Athens and explored the ruins of Delphi… to be continued…
