Introducing Ryan Graves as George Gibbs!

Ryan Graves is a Duquesne Alumni who graduated in 2025 with a degree in Digital Media Arts. You may have seen him in other Red Masquer and Summer Company productions, such as Antipholus of Syracuse and Antipholus of Ephesus in Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, Oliver Larding in Theater of Blood, Clifford Anderson in Deathtrap, Squidward in The SpongeBob Musical, and more! He is honored to return to the Genesius Theater, and to get the opportunity to perform again with his amazing girlfriend, Ellie. He hopes you enjoy the show and it brings you perspective.

Introducing Bob Hartley as Mr. Webb!

Bob Hartley participated in Chicago’s improv scene in the 1980s. He was an actor and writer in several original productions. In the 1990’s, he turned his attention to writing fiction, resulting in a scholarship to The University of Pittsburgh and the publication of two novels (Following Tommy and North and Central). In the 2000’s, with the arrival of his two children and the need for economic security, he became a respiratory therapist. Recently retired, Bob has returned to his interest in theater, music, and writing.

Shannon Galligan-Stierle is delighted to be part of this special play with this special group of people. Shannon has been connected to theater her whole life and has taken on many roles both on stage, backstage and supporting all of her nearest and dearest as theater artists. Some favorite on-stage roles: Helen Cohen in Ellis Island; Frau Schmidt/Nun in Sound of Music; Mrs. Peacock in Clue; Featured Ensemble in Ragtime; Ensemble in Sweeney Todd; Kathy in The Last Five Years; Wife to Aaron & Mother to Devin & Zoe. Introducing John E. Lane Jr. as Dr. Gibbs!

John is an Associate Professor and the Director of Theater Arts program for Duquesne University. He has directed over 120 productions for various companies around the Pittsburgh area including Pittsburgh Public Theater, Carlow University, Pittsburgh Opera Theater, Wilkinsburg Arts Theater, Medieval and Renaissance Players, Pittsburgh New Works Festival, Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater Company, Thank You, Felix Productions, and Future Tenants. He is a board member of the Gemini Children’s Theater and the Pittsburgh New Works Festival. Previously, he was the Technical Director for the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh and toured extensively through the United States and Europe including a tour of The Marriage of Figaro with Renee Fleming, and he was the Operations Manager of The Pittsburgh Public Theater for 18 years when he worked with August Wilson, Sir Alan Ayckbourn, Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber, Marlo Thomas, F. Murry Abraham, Horton Foote, Mel Shapiro, Rob Marshall, Mark Rylance, Kim Hunter, Haley Mills, and many others. Since joining Duquesne he has directed 12 world premiere productions including a new adaptation of The Beggar’s Opera with new music by Suzanne Polock and book by Lane and The Mother of Us All: An Evening with Gertrude Stein, Serenede, The Consorts, and Shuffle Ball Change … and Die! He has taught Intro to Theater, Intro to Drama, Acting I, Acting II, Acting III, Acting IV, Directing I, Directing II, History of Theater I, History of Theater II, Dramatic Criticism, Twentieth Century American Drama, LOL: Comic Masterpieces of the Theater, August Wilson, Technical Theater, Q***r Drama, Film Musicals, Gender and Drama, Existential Drama, Medieval Drama, Shaw: Drama and Performance (Spring Breakaway), Shakespeare and Performance, Q***r Coming of Age Literature, and Medieval Comedy.

Introducing Leah Klocko as Mrs. Gibbs!

Leah Klocko is happy to be acting and working with the Summer Company once again. She is mostly known as a costumer and costumed The Madwoman of Chaillot and Hedda Gabler for the Summer Company quite a few years ago. Currently she is the costumer for Carlow University, East Allegheny High School, and CCAC South. Recently she participated in a staged reading of The Monkey's Paw with The Pittsburgh Savoyards, and played Mrs. Medlock in The Heritage Players' production of The Secret Garden. Introducing Ashley Caldwell as Josephine Stoddard!

Ashley Caldwell is an upcoming senior this year studying Public Relations and Theater Arts at Duquesne University. She is currently the Vice President of the Red Masquers, and the social media chair, and the costume chair. With the Red Masquers, she has most recently appeared as Philoclea in Head Over Heels, then as Johanna in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Luciana in Shakespeare’s Comedy Of Errors, and first as Tina Denmark in Ruthless! She was also active in her high school theater program at Thomas Jefferson, playing Erma in Anything Goes (2022 revision) for which she was awarded Best Supporting Actress in the Gene Kelly Awards in 2023!

Deborah Geary is excited to make her debut with the Summer Company’s production of Our Town. As a long-time member of the Pittsburgh Savoyards, she has performed Olga, The Grand Duke; Mrs. Hatch, It’s a Wonderful Life, Mrs. Vesey/Michelson, The Woman in White, Brighella Cavicchio, The Servant of Two Masters, Venus, Thespis, Mrs. Dilber, A Christmas Carol, Mrs. Partlet, Sorcerer, Katisha, The Mikado, Vittoria, The Gondoliers, Lady Jane, Patience, Buttercup, HMS Pinafore, Fairy Queen, Iolanthe, Ruth, The Pirates of Penzance, and Lady Blanche, Princess Ida. Deborah recently appeared as Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible at Paragon Theatre. Deborah thanks her husband, Regis, and Mr. Bunthorne, who is an excellent dog but definitely not an aesthetic poet.

Introducing Jay Keenan as Cemetery Resident!

Jay Keenan is delighted to accept this courtesy role, Jay returns to The Summer Company, which John Lane, Steve Fatla, and he founded some 45 years ago. Jay was professor and head of English and Theater then at Duquesne. Retiring from there in 2003, Jay has acted with Quantum Theater, Pict, Pittsburgh Playwrights, Prime Stage, and other companies. Favorite roles have been Lear in King Lear and, fittingly, Sir in The Dresser. Now retired, he can be found in his garden “among the other cabbages.” (Stop by for a chat. Bring wine.) He thanks the Summer Company for this chance at age 88 to return once more to his Town.
