"Fire Salamander in Watercolor," 2025

The Near Eastern fire salamander is found in Western Asia, particularly in the forested regions of Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan. It is recognized by its dark body and bright yellow spots, which warn predators of the toxins secreted from its skin.

"Northern Flicker in Watercolor," 2026

The northern flicker is among the few migratory woodpecker species in North America, moving southward from the northern parts of their range in the winter. Unlike most other woodpeckers, they use their slightly curved bill to dig in the dirt for ants and beetles.

"A Cardinal for Maggie," 2026

The northern cardinal is found in southeastern Canada, through the eastern United States, and south through Mexico. This one is landing on a branch of sweet acacia in bloom, a thorny shrub with fragrant yellow flowers. Drawn as a gift for a friend.
