🎉👑 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BOSS LADY — Aimee! 👑🎉

Today Steel Edge Carpentry is celebrating the woman who somehow manages to build s**t, run s**t, love every weird creature she encounters, and keep the rest of us from completely losing our s**t. 😂🖤

Aimee isn't just part of Steel Edge — she IS Steel Edge. Carpenter. Co-owner. Animal rescuer. Creative mind. Problem solver. Professional spider appreciator. 🕷️🦂🦎🐀🐈

She'll pick up a power tool, hold her own on a jobsite, stop everything to investigate a bug, then somehow still have enough energy left to make sure everybody else is taken care of.

Steel Edge wouldn't be what it is without her! Fact ✅

So from the entire Steel Edge family and all of our amazing clients — humans, reptiles, rodents, arachnids, and one extremely important fluffy supervisor named Hazelnut — HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AIMEE! We love you!! 😂🎂🖤

Here's to another year of building cool s**t, rescuing questionable creatures, drinking coffee, chasing crazy ideas, and doing life BUILT DIFFERENT. 🔨👑

WE LOVE YOU, BOSS LADY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎂

Steel Edge Carpentry Friday Backyard Inspiration

Some of the best rooms in the house do not have four walls.

A backyard pavilion can become the place where everybody gathers for dinner, watches the game, celebrates birthdays, stays dry when Pittsburgh weather changes its mind, or simply sits around after a long week.

The right outdoor space is not just something nice to look at.

It becomes part of how your family lives.

If there is a spot in your backyard that is not doing much of anything right now, imagine what it could become.

Steel Edge Carpentry builds custom outdoor spaces designed around your property and the way you want to use it.

One of the best things about working with the person you love most is that you’re not just building a business together… you’re building a life together. ❤️🔨

Aimee and I spend our days side by side — loading lumber, cutting boards, solving problems, laughing at stupid s**t, getting irritated with each other 😂, pushing through long days, and standing back at the end of a project knowing WE built that.

There’s something different about sharing the wins with the same person who was standing beside you during the hard parts.

She knows how hard I work because she’s right there working with me. I know how hard she works because I see it every single day.

We’ve learned each other’s strengths. We pick up each other’s slack. We argue. We laugh. We figure s**t out. And somewhere between the sawdust, early mornings, sore muscles and finished projects, we’ve become one hell of a team.

The best part?

When something we dreamed about starts becoming real, there’s nobody else I’d rather look over at and say…

“Look what we fu***ng built.” ❤️

Not just the decks.
Not just the pavilions.
Not just Steel Edge Carpentry.

All of it.

Together. 🖤🔨

Steel Edge Carpentry Tuesday Tip of the Day

Thinking about adding a deck to your backyard?

Before deciding on the size, think about how you actually plan to use it.

Do you want room for a grill? A dining table? Outdoor furniture? A fire feature? Space for the whole family when everybody shows up?

A deck can look great and still feel too small if the layout was not planned around real life.

A little extra planning in the beginning can make a big difference once the project is finished.

Have an idea for your backyard? Let’s talk about it.

Steel Edge Carpentry Backyard Inspiration

Your home doesn’t stop at the back door.

Sometimes an empty backyard is just an empty backyard.

Other times, it’s a future deck where the family eats dinner together.

A pavilion where everybody gathers when it rains.

A fire lounge where you sit around talking long after the sun goes down.

A garden you built with the kids.

Or simply a quiet place to sit after a long day.

You don’t always need a bigger house.

Sometimes you just need to make better use of the space you already have.

If you’ve been looking at your backyard and thinking, “We should really do something with this,” Steel Edge Carpentry would love to help bring that idea to life.

Call or text 412-347-8718 or send us a message to talk about your project.

God bless you, your family, and your home.

Steel Edge Carpentry Tip of the Day

Before Pittsburgh weather starts reminding us that summer doesn’t last forever, take a few minutes to give your deck a good look.

Check for loose boards, raised nails or screws, soft spots, wobbly railings, and areas where water tends to sit after it rains.

Small issues are usually easier to deal with before another Western Pennsylvania winter gets a chance to make them worse.

And if your deck has reached the point where fixing one thing just leads to finding three more, it might be time to start thinking about something new.

Need help with a deck repair, replacement, or custom outdoor project?
