The award-winning Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University, reopened in the Fall of 2018 in a new, award-winning 90,411 square-foot center for arts and entertainment that serves as an artistic laboratory for the prestigious Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) and downtown Pittsburgh’s newest home for arts and entertainment. The Playhouse is comprised of professional, artist educators dedicated to an approach to training that enables students to pursue careers as professionals. COPA includes Departments of Theatre, Dance, and Cinema. The four-story, state of the art facility, located in Downtown Pittsburgh at 350 Forbes Avenue, features the 550-seat PNC Theatre whose backstage and inner workings are visible from the street, resulting in an intentional glimpse into performing arts classes; the 200-seat Highmark Theatre; and the 99-seat Rauh Theatre. The new Pittsburgh Playhouse was designed to be both a learning laboratory for all Point Park students and cultural asset for the community. The Playhouse provides experiential learning opportunities and collaborates with the University’s Rowland School of Business and Center for Media Innovation on events, lectures and related programming. Executive Producer Kiesha Lalama joined WPXI-TV Pittsburgh’s “Our Region’s Business” to discuss how the Pittsburgh Playhouse is providing unprecedented opportunities to Point Park University students, and shaping the future of the city and the performing arts industry.

Students are working side-by-side with industry professionals on our upcoming world premiere of Girls Just Want to Have Fun The Musical! and our new family-friendly musical Yuletide! A Holiday Spectacular.

“To be able to use all of our resources and align that with Broadway professionals… with our students… it is really an extraordinary opportunity,” said Lalama.

Koresh Dance Company takes the stage TONIGHT at 7 p.m. for a special one-night-only performance in our PNC Theatre!🩰

This program features the 2026 world premiere of “Never/Mind,” Ronen (Roni) Koresh’s newest choreographed work with an original score by Sage DeAgro-Ruopp.

“Never/Mind” is a state of mind in which your creativity is reached free from external opinions, expectations, and distractions. In this unfiltered mental space, the artist cannot be swayed — focused solely on instinct, individuality, and authentic expression. Through Koresh’s signature physicality and DeAgro-Ruopp’s evocative composition, the work invites audiences to consider what becomes possible when we silence the noise and trust our own voice.

This week, Broadway photographer and performer Benji Rivera (Benjamin Rivera Photography) and creative director Eric Emch (Tate Creative) visited the Pittsburgh Playhouse for a publicity photoshoot for our upcoming world premiere of Girls Just Want to Have Fun The Musical!💖

Students cast in the show got the unique opportunity to spend a day on our Sound Stage posing in their fabulous ‘80s costumes by our own Michael Montgomery for character photos that will be used for future show promotional materials!📸

We’re excited to introduce the cast of The Bed Trick, a witty contemporary comedy by Keiko Green about three college roommates, a campus production of Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well, and questions of love, identity and consent. With sharp humor and plenty of heart, this production explores the messy, hilarious moments that come with growing up.
