It’s REALLY almost recital day!!! ❤️🖤

Last night watching over 100 dancers on that stage hit different. Little kids. Teens. Adults. Families. Former students. New dancers. So much talent, growth, personality and heart all in one room.

This year has not been easy for a lot of people. But one thing about Kulture… we’re going to keep creating. Keep dancing. Keep showing our youth there’s joy, discipline, family and freedom in the arts.

“The Kookout” is more than a recital. It’s a celebration of Black family, culture, music, memories and community. The aunties. The cousins. The cookout playlists. The loud laughter. The love. ALL of it.

And this Sunday, our dancers get to bring that feeling to the stage at the August Wilson Center 🥹🔥

Bravo! Bravo! The Firebird costume worn by Misty Copeland during the Oscars tonight celebrating a defining moment from “Sinners” is on loan from Dance Theatre of Harlem.

The costume was designed by the legendary artist Geoffrey Holder for the our acclaimed production of Firebird. Copeland’s appearance in the iconic design honors a continuum of Black artistic excellence in music and dance while recognizing the enduring legacy of Dance Theatre of Harlem.
