Just finished up our family vacation. We went to see space shuttle Discovery and see other cool aircraft and space stuff. I cannot even begin to describe how big Discovery and the SR-71 are in person. Highly recommend you go to the National Air and Space Museum Steven Hazy Center and see them for yourself.

Then we spent 4 days in Virginia Beach right on the boardwalk. It was so nice to lose track of time and leave most of my worries behind for a week.

Back to the grind next week!

Fired up the drone today from the backyard and hovered over Rt. 65 to catch the Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive as it passed through Baden after having passed through Pittsburgh and stopped in Leetsdale earlier in the day.

The roads around the bridge in the last few seconds of this were packed with parked cars, even some out in front of my house and literally stopping in the lanes on 65 to watch/pace the train.

Big Boy 4014 was completed in 1941 as one of only 25 ever built and it is the only one in operation today. It is 133 ft long and weighs about 1.2 million pounds! Truly a beast!

Hearing the whistle on this thing as I piloted the drone and tried to keep the camera and drone steady had me literally shaking with excitement as it drove by.

It was so cool to see it from this perspective! This was well worth the wait and I’m glad the weather cooperated as it poured about an hour after it came through!

What a past month of gigs!

effeccs also runs and owns , an awesome DJ studio in Pittsburgh with 2 CDJ-3000s and a DJM-A9 mixer and where I have been recording all these sessions from! If you are in the Pittsburgh area, definitely check them out!
