We hope you are doing well! We’ve got a flashback piece for you. On this date four years ago, the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra rehearsed with our dear friend Don Maue for an upcoming fall performance at Synod Hall. It was such a fun rehearsal and even better performance. Enjoy this snippet!

If you know us, you know that we overlap with many other musical groups in Pittsburgh! One such group is the Russian Balalaika Orchestra of Pittsburgh, one of only 11 such ensembles in North America.

The Russian Balalaika Orchestra of Pittsburgh will be giving a FREE concert on Sunday, February 2, at Heinz Chapel in Oakland. The concert begins sharply at 3 PM, giving you plenty of time to soak up some good music before you head home to watch the Super Bowl. We hope you'll join us for what we anticipate will be a festive and engaging time for all involved!

A thousand thanks to all who attended today's concert at St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland! Thank you to all attendees, the volunteers who ran the soundboard, box office, merch, and promotions. Kudos to Charley, Lena, Kym, and all of the orchestra members for lending us their gift of music. Thank you for your continued support! Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra wish you a marvelous holiday season!

We are seeking a percussionist to join our orchestra. While we are a mando-family orchestra, percussion adds to the excitement with color and rhythm. Interested individuals must be able to 1) attend weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings at our rehearsal space in McCandless Township, 2) sight-read music scores, 3) receive and interpret direction from orchestra conductors, and 4) own and comfortably play a variety of percussion instruments such as snare, cymbals, bells, shakers, tambourine, and more. Please inquire via this page to indicate interest or ask questions.

This position will remain open until filled, though ideally we'd love to have someone in place before our December holiday concerts.
