SUMMER WATERCOLOR CLASS!!
This class is a 5 week session in exploring various painting techniques in watercolors. You will learn techniques in creating textures, composition, color theory etc.  we will learn how to capture the perfect skies, painting rocks and more. Weather permitting, one week we will try to travel outdoors for an opportunity of Plein Air painting.  All supplies are provided, although you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

This past week’s challenge for Jim’s Advanced Fine Arts class was to draw art supplies in mugs, and they NAILED IT!! Three of these drawings were by 9th and 10th grade students. All of them did amazing work! So proud of them!

Winter Wonderland Watercolor Workshop
Let it snow… Let it snow… Let it snow! It’s that time to create beautiful watercolor winter scenes! Come and learn how to paint snow - either on the ground, on the trees or drifting through the air. This workshop is for all levels of artists, from the beginner to the advanced. All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your favorite supplies if you choose to. We will have coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a few snacks as well. Come and enjoy a time of art, music, snacks and fun! Please register early.

Fall Watercolor Workshop

Wow! Can you believe it… it’s time to FALL back into a watercolor workshop with all the colors that autumn has to offer!! This workshop we will be exploring new techniques with color and texture including creating misty fall landscapes. We look forward to seeing you in October for the first of our series of workshops! All supplies are included, though you are more than welcome to bring your favorite supplies! Snacks and beverages will be available. As always all skill levels are welcome!

It may be hot outside…
But summer at Soli Deo Arts art camps has been really cool! Starting with Imagine Camp making masks and puppets, including a crazy bird marionette puppet and puppet show!
And then starting last week the young artists went on a World Safari Tour 2 to explore the animals on the 7 continents and they are finishing another World Safari this week with a look at all new animals on the continents! We have several more art camps to go!! Stay tuned!!

This is Jim’s “Journey” that started in April of 2023.

On April 23,2023 Jim had 3 devastating, life threatening strokes that left him paralyzed on his right side. He spent weeks where Julie Nolan, the art therapist, and others helped him to start to regain his strength and mobility back. Jim created a painting (The Road to Recovery) at Magee that won an award and hangs in Magee’s permanent collection.

From there Jim has gained the use of right arm and is now having success in having his paintings accepted in several shows and is even teaching High School and Adults drawing and painting!! What an incredible “Journey”! Go to our website and see his latest work. www.solideoartscreative.com
