The Bole-Mor family lost a dear friend yesterday.
Glenn Vander Poel was a longtime member of our Three Eye League, bowling on the Bole-Mor Lanes team for as long as I can remember. He was one of the kindest people you'd ever meet. He was always quick with a smile and always willing to stop and chat. Thursday nights just won't be the same. Glenn would usually make his entrance a little late (if we're being honest), then step up with his one of a kind bowling style. More often than not, it left his hair looking like a mad scientist's, and I'd find myself wondering if one of those follow-throughs was going to take out my monitors. One of my favorite Glenn moments was the night he came in without his glasses. I asked if he'd forgotten them, and very seriously he said, "Oh, I woke up this morning and decided I could see." I still don’t know if he was entirely joking but sure enough, the next Thursday the glasses were back. It was those little moments…his humor, his quirks, and his genuine kindness that made him such a special part of our bowling family. We're going to miss seeing you on Thursday nights, Glenn.
Rest in peace, buddy. ❤️
