Want to be a Krampus or Frau Perchta?

This is what we do. Every person you see in these photos is a member of Krampus Verein Pinellas at the German American Society of Pinellas Park.
The path to becoming a Krampus or Frau Perchta starts with volunteering. Our 2026 season runs from the first week of October through the last week of December, and we are looking for people who want to be part of something real.
We need volunteers for handler roles, security, entrance and ticket checking, and setup and breakdown crew. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours per event, with 4 hours being ideal.
After a vetting process, standout volunteers may be invited to join as a Krampus.

From there, you will receive a hand-carved wooden mask from one of our carvers and begin building your own custom fur suit, handmade specifically for you. Our masks come from two of the best in the craft, American carver Gavin Hughes (Instagram ) and Austrian carver Niklas Koller.

Last year our Krampuslauf sold out before the doors opened and drew over 1,000 attendees. We are growing, and we want the right people growing with us.

Interested? Send us a message or come out to one of our monthly socials, held every third Friday at the German American Society of Pinellas Park in Pinellas Park.

Hey folks! Our June monthly social kicks off at 7PM tonight at the German American Friendship Society in Pinellas Park.
We’ll be talking costume making (tips, builds, and Florida heat-proofing ideas), Krampusnacht traditions, and what’s ahead for the Krampus America Convention in February.
If you’re in the area and want to join the crew, swing by — new faces always welcome. Bring your questions, show off any suit progress, and let’s hang.

Folks, I take pride that most of our followers are in the Tampa Bay area. I love our followers from outside of our area too, don't get me wrong, but it's great to share our activities with our locals that come to our events.

That said, I know it's just a number, but we are only 108 followers away from 1,000. Please invite a friend, especially if they are in our community, that may be interested in Krampus, or keeping up with the many events we do around the Holidays as well as our monthly Krampus Socials.

Thank you!

We are thrilled to welcome Gerald Brom as a featured author and presenter at Krampus America 2027. From defining the dark fantasy look of TSR’s Dark Sun and contributing to iconic worlds like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, to creating beloved horror novels such as Krampus: The Yule Lord, Lost Gods, and the bestselling Slewfoot, Brom has spent a lifetime bringing the weird, monstrous, and beautiful to life.

Brom first won acclaim for bringing TSR’s Dark Sun role-playing world to life. He has since lent his distinctive vision to all facets of the creative industries, from novels and games to comics and film, working on such notable titles as: World of Warcraft, Magic the Gathering, Diablo, Doom, Batman, Galaxy Quest and Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow.

He is also the author of a series of award-winning illustrated horror novels: the national bestselling novel—Slewfoot, Evil in Me, Lost Gods, Krampus the Yule Lord, The Child Thief, The Plucker, and The Devil’s Rose. Brom is currently kept in a dank cellar on an island just outside of Savannah.

Born in the deep dark south in the mid-sixties. Brom, an army brat, spent his entire youth on the move and unabashedly blames living in such places as Japan, Hawaii, Germany, and Alabama for all his afflictions. From his earliest memories Brom has been obsessed with the creation of the weird, the monstrous, and the beautiful.

At age twenty, Brom began working full-time as a commercial illustrator in Atlanta, Georgia. Three years later he entered the field of fantastic art he’d loved his whole life, making his mark developing and illustrating for D&D’s best-selling role-playing worlds.

He has since gone on to lend his distinctive vision to all facets of the creative industries, from novels and games to comics and film. receiving numerous awards such as the Spectrum Fantastic Art Grand Master award, and the Chesley Lifetime Achievement award. Most recently he's created a series of award winning horror novels that he both writes and illustrates: “The Plucker”, an adult children’s book, “The Devil’s Rose”, a modern western set in Hell, “The Child Thief”, a gritty, nightmarish retelling of the Peter Pan myth, "Krampus, the Yule Lord", a tale of revenge between Krampus and Santa set in rural West Virginia, "Lost Gods" one man's determined trek through the brutal landscape of purgatory, “Slewfoot” a historical horror novel of witchery and vengeance, set in colonial America and a USA Today National Bestseller! And his latest, “Evil In Me,” a punk rock, demon possession, fairytale.

Brom is currently kept in a dank cellar somewhere in the most haunted city in America, Savannah, GA. There he subsists on poison spiders, centipedes, and cheesy horror flicks. When not eating bugs, he is ever writing, painting, and trying to reach a happy sing-along with the many demons dancing about in his head.

I swear, Pamela LaFleur Horgen and I did not plan this, but you gotta have your volume on for this. She filmed me with this singer in the background and it's perfect.
