⚡️A Way Forward in Uncertain Times⚡️
Relatives, as we move through these uncertain times we look to our ancestral knowledge, our resilient communities, and our indigeneity for grounding, strength, and a way forward. And as our world faces this health crisis we all must work collectively to support and protect each other.
Looking to the horizon we want to ensure the safety of our communities and our most vulnerable members. Given the uncertainty of when we all may gather again and the instability of these colonial systems, we have decided to cancel our IN-PERSON live event scheduled for the first weekend in August on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
As community organizers, artists, creatives, and practitioners we have been so humbled to bring film and storytelling directly to our communities. Sharing and telling stories is medicine and healing, and we are committed to our vision of indigenizing the screen and our mission to celebrate, elevate, and empower Indigenous stories.
As we pivot and continue to learn and innovate during this time, we are excited to bring our event to the digital space. So, in the coming months, we will dive into our creativity and innovation to design programming that will continue to elevate, celebrate, and empower Indigenous voices, uplift our stories, and radically transform our narratives in media—all while staying away together.
We remain committed to our journey of radically imagining a future where Indigenous storytellers thrive and we will continue to work collectively with partners and allies to ensure we are all resourced, included, and visible.
Sharing good medicine to you and your families, communities, and relatives across turtle island and the world. Let us pause and focus on taking care of each other and the planet.
