My day started much like most others—tending to the needs of my job, trying to anticipate what might come up, and taking care of things before they became problems. Late in the afternoon, I headed to WhiteOak with gas cans in hand, planning to mow the lawn before an evening venue tour.
When I opened the door, I was met with a surprise I certainly hadn’t planned for. The water heater had decided its life mission was complete and had spent its final hours washing the floors, leaving nearly two inches of water throughout the barn.
Out came the broom, the squeegee, the shop vacuum, and every fan I could find. I pushed water, vacuumed water, and moved more water. Thankfully, the fans worked wonders, and with a lot of effort, the floors were mostly dry just in time for the tour.
Days like today are a reminder that no matter how carefully we plan, life often has other ideas. The key isn’t avoiding the unexpected—it’s being willing to adjust when it arrives. Sometimes the plan changes, but the day still turns out just fine. At WhiteOak, we cleaned up the mess, welcomed our guests, and carried on.
All is well the floors are dry and extremely clean.
You never know what God has in store. One day at a time.!
