Band Camp 2026 was full of surprises, including but not limited to extremely tall ladders, a well timed ice cream truck, 4 large sheet cakes, a dunk tank filled with freezing cold water, and a Senior "glamping ambush"! Our fearless leader Mr. Kevin Welling and Booster extraordinaire Mrs. Cherie Rowse (along with an army of amazing helpers) made it a week to remember. Culminating with an on field performance debut of their game time show featuring Latin Pop music, the Fighting Pirate Marching Band is ready for another season! Hurrah and go Pirate Music!

We will be back at the Brighton Farmers Market Market this Saturday August 15th from 8:00am to 1:00pm. We will be bringing the following sourdough: White, White Sesame, Country Loaves, Roasted Garlic, 100% Whole Wheat, Manzanilla Olive, Cranberry & Pecan, Cinnamon Raisin, and Pullman Loaves. Hope to see everyone there!

The Pinckney Schools Music program had its final spring concert last night with Pathfinder's 6th Grade Band and Orchestra. Music director Mr. David Rega led the orchestra in a variety of songs, ending with a rousing rendition of the classic "Dragonhunter". The 6th Grade Band debuted a new composition written by Mr. Rega, featuring their lively percussion ensemble. The PCHS/Pathfinder Bands Spring Concert was a celebration of dynamic music and our beloved Senior Pirate instrumentalists. Music director Mr. Kevin Welling started the evening off with the Pathfinder 7th and 8th grade band, ending with "Trumpet Shout Out" featuring the Middle School Trumpet and Percussion sections.
The PCHS Woodwind Quartet and Drums, featuring Jaden Zeilinger, Katelyn Sanchez, Vinny Miller and Jolene Hardesty charmed the audience with "Just Around the Corner". The Pinckney Music Boosters awarded seniors Psylas Doll, Griffin Duncan, 2026 PCHS Salutatorian Colin Ozias, James Rinaldi, Bella Wittrup and Jaden Zeilinger roses and medals. Ms. Isabella Wittrup received the PMB Ed Jones Band Scholarship and three additional scholarships were presented to Seniors Griffin Duncan, Colin Ozias and Jaden Zeilinger. The 2026 Seniors gifted Mr. Welling with a familiar face.
The evening concluded with "Celebration Fanfare", and indeed it was! Congratulations to all of our graduates, we will miss you. Go Pirate Music!🎶❤️🖤 Thank you Kyra Totten Zeilinger for the beautiful photos.

Our final 2026 award, the Ed Jones Band Scholarship for a graduating senior, was awarded last night to Isabella Wittrup! Bella, an energetic percussionist, was the PCHS Fighting Pirate Marching Band Drum Sargent. She's off to MSU next fall to study neuroscience. Warmest congratulations to Bella, we are all so proud of you!
