This past weekend at the First Frontier Circuit Finals and Miss First Frontier Circuit Pageant was a bitter-sweet experience. This year as Miss Teen First Frontier Circuit has truly been one I will never forget. All of the events that I had the honor of going to were amazing and I got to make so many memories that will last forever. My favorite part about all of this was teaching people, young and old, about Rodeo every where I went and even learning more about it myself. I had the opportunity to be a light of encouragement to some who truly needed it. I want to thank my family for letting me be able to do this and going on the road with me to experience these great things. I also want to thank the First Frontier Circuit Pageant Committee for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity. I am so excited for the new queens and being able to watch their experiences this upcoming year. So as I am saying goodbye to my chaps, sash, and crown I will always keep my experiences and friendships that I’ve made so very close to my heart.

As we are just a few days away from the 2023 Miss First Frontier Circuit pageant, I wanted to give my advice to the girls who will be competing.

As you prepare for this pageant, try to remember that it’s not all about the crown, the title, or the dresses. It’s about being able to show everyone your gorgeous personalities, your determination, your knowledge of our sport, and your love for every person/animal involved in it. It’s the little girls who see you in the arena and want to be just like you when they grow up. Remember that when you walk on that stage or into the arena, it’s your chance to be YOU, not who you think you should be! Have fun and embrace the friendships, memories, and opportunities you will make along the way. You will face challenges and obstacles but know that you will overcome them. Even though I soon will no longer have the title of Miss Teen First Frontier Circuit, I will continue to be who I am and spread my knowledge/support/love of rodeo❤️

I read this earlier today and thought it was absolutely amazing!! I also added my own pictures from my journey of joining the “rodeo world”. There are so many people who are first generation in this industry. The key is to remember that everyone starts somewhere, follow your heart and believe that you can make it happen!!💗

“I can’t help but think about what I have gone through to get where I am today. Entering into the worlds of rodeo queening and rodeo with no background in the industry, was challenging. I can remember the naysayers telling me I couldn’t be a good rodeo queen because I didn’t own cattle, have a “broke” horse that could do everything, or come from a rodeo family. However, I knew deep down that rodeo and the western world is where I was meant to be. It was in those moments that I knew I had to study, practice, and work twice as hard as those who grew up in the world that I so desperately wanted to be apart of.
After winning my first title and finally entering into the western industry, I found an unfathomable love for the sport of rodeo, priceless friendships with those who believe in me, and a desire to continue living a lifestyle I would have never discovered if I had chosen to listen to the naysayers. In the trials and tribulations, wins and losses, I found that it’s okay to be first generation; something I wish I was told as a young girl by someone who was in a position of influence. The world and lifestyle I now desire to have, found me at the right moment in my life; it gave me a place where I could discover new things about myself that had been hidden. Now, I am in the a position where I can “be a light” for others to look to and can tell young kids what I needed to hear.
If you are first generation or wanting to enter this incredible industry, I’m here to tell you that it is possible. Find what fuels your fire, what peaks your interest in the industry, people that you can lean on for help and inspiration, and discover where you want to go and who you want to be in this world; because IT IS OKAY TO BE FIRST GENERATION.”
