First of all, it was W. S. Bodie who discovered gold on his land. FB won’t let me edit my last post to correct it from James to W. S. Also, in the word search one clue was supposed to say “frozen in time,” but “time” got cut off. Sorry. Bodie held on for a long time, but when the last mine closed in 1942, they appeared to just leave sometime thereafter. Sad. Good luck!

The California Gold Rush started in the 1850’s. After James Body discovered gold on his land in 1875, the town went from dozens of people to thousands of people within a short span of time. When the last mine closed in 1942, the town’s people pretty much “gave up the ghost!” They literally walked away leaving food on shelves and everything in place! Enjoy!
