On behalf of myself and the Evanswood theater, we are saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly. Dolly touched the lives of millions but no more than her home and our Sevier County family.
Our east Tennessee community has been forever changed by her kindness and generosity.
She always kept her humble beginnings close to her heart, and was the embodiment of true love. A love that was without
prejudice. She lifted up everyone regardless of our differences.
Everyone of us who have been inspired and encouraged by her, know that her passing is not the end of an era. She’s too big to ever be forgotten, and too precious a soul to ever forget us.
It’s heartbreaking to see such a true legend leave us. Dolly was more than an entertainer—she was the brightest light in our community.
If you look closely in the sky tonight, you might notice an extra star. Our star. An extra angel in heaven.
Dolly believed in the old showbiz adage “The show must go on.” and that it will…in her legacy, her love for this community.
We can be saddened because our friend has left us but more so rejoice because she was ours.
Dolly, Thank you for bringing your light of real magic to a darkened world.
“ WE will always love YOU”.
