The first professional tattoo shop that he worked for was called the wizards lair; He worked for a cat named Scott Lucas, who at that time was the only custom tattoo shop around. They were located in Augusta Georgia on Gordon Hwy just outside of Gate 5 at Fort Gordon Army base. So you can imagine how many soldiers they tattooed before desert storm and many other conflicts. There works have been pu
blished by many professional tattoo magazines and have became world renowned for their one of a kind custom and original designs. Since then his good friend Scott has passed and so has another great artist Steve Harris. Doug is the only one left out of the group. He still use’s the same professional equipment and style he was taught by these two rare artist. He has apprenticed a few artists through the years, but the best one of them all is his wife of 25 years Alice, she is a seasoned piercer and has hospital standards of sterilization. Alice has been inking for Doug over a decade and has been his piercer for longer than that. Since they virtually use the same shading and coloring techniques either one of them is the right choice! Their son is an 11 year old double lung transplant patient and one cool artist we are going to set up a gallery on the web site featuring his art that can be put on shirts, and various items. All proceeds will go to his campaign helping raise funds for his needs.
