Washington Artillery 4th Company

Washington Artillery 4th Company We have three full size guns! A 3” ordinance Rife, 6Pdr Napoleon, and a 10Pdr Parrot. We the 4th Company are always looking for new members.

We own 3 full size Guns ( 12pd nap., 3" ord. rifle, and a 10 pd parrot not complete.) It takes at least 6-8 men on each gun. The dues for the MLHC are $25 per single person and $35 per family a year. The powder dues are $200.00 a year per cannonier. Each shot costs about $10 and each gun is shot about 20 to 30 times at each re-enactment. There is a 6 month trial before being accepted.

This Ladies and Gentlemen is a very sad sad time. After over a hundred years of service to our country, the state and even to the world it has come to my attention that the Louisiana NGB has pulled the Name , “Battalion Washington Artillery “! Pulled the battle ribbons from the War Between the States from there colors. The NGB has let it be known that there will be no discussion on this move.

This is just unbelievable! Ladies and Gentlemen of Louisiana please call your Senators and Congressmen and see if this “WOKE” agenda can be stopped!

Today, we honor those heroic men who led the charge for freedom. 79 years ago America’s men landed on the beaches of western France. While the Washington Artillery did not land on the beaches. It liberated N**i occupied territories of France, Italy, Germany and up to Czechoslovakia. Today “D-Day” we will not forgot their sacrifice. For God, Country, and Freedom. Note: Col. Frank Spiess who was the only commander of the WA during the Second World War. His son the late Mr Frank Spiess, Jr. was a proud member of the WA 4th Co. till his until passing in 2018. These photo’s are from the Col. Frank Spiess, Sr. collection housed at Jackson Barracks. Below is a photo of Col. Spiess.
