Our next senior spotlight is Hannah Laub! Hannah is a newer squaddie. Her first show at TSSYT was Shrek the Musical this Spring, but she will also be joining us this summer for Sister Act! Though our time with Hannah was short, she made a lasting impression. She always came in with a positive attitude and the willingness to put in the work. We wish Hannah luck on whatever comes next and hope she knows she always has a home at TSSYT!

Our next senior spotlight is MaKayla Martin. MaKayla was a squaddie before TSSYT has its own theater! She met Mrs. Springer at St. Elizabeth when she was in 3rd Grade in 2016. Since then she has performed in too many shows to count! Some of her most notable roles are Spiker (James and the Giant Peach Jr.), Hygge (Frozen Jr.), and Marmee (Little Women). MaKayla has also been a huge part of growing our counselor program. She has been such an important part of so many kids lives, they always are wondering when Miss KK is coming. MaKayla is so special because she cares so deeply for others. Her heart is unlike any other. The theater will absolutely feel it when she is gone, but we cannot wait to see where the future takes her.

Continuing our senior spotlights, we have Ava George. Ava has been a squaddie since 2020 and has performed in 20 shows on the TSSYT stage. Some of her most memorable roles have been Earthworm (James and the Giant Peach Jr.), Elsa (Frozen Jr.), Miss Shields (A Christmas Story), Bea (Something Rotten), Ellie (Freaky Friday), and Jo March (Little Women). Ava is one of the most talented people to step on our stage, but she is also one of the most humble, down to earth, kind students we have ever worked with. She is friends with everyone and always comes in with a smile. We know the world of musical theater can be hard, but if anyone can do it, it’s Ava George. We love you Ava!

It’s becoming graduation season, so we wanted to take a minute to spotlight our graduating seniors. Kathleen Verbosh has been a TSSYT squaddie since 2021. In the last 5 years, she has performed in 20 shows at TSSYT. Some of her most known roles are Mother (A Christmas Story), Glinda (Wizard of Oz), RapunzeI (Into the Woods), and most recently Fiona (Shrek). Not only is Kathleen so talented, but she has a heart of gold and is such a kind spirit. We will miss seeing her shine on our stage, but we cannot wait to see where her hard work will take her next.
