Liz Afif Fisher’s first gallery started as a storefront window she rented from a gift shop for $50 a month. It was called Alba Gallery, named for her mother. She later opened Afif Gallery at 1904 South Street, then she moved back to NY for personal reasons and while working and living in NYC opened Square Inch Gallery with her roommate David Resnick. Later she moved back to Philadelphia and opened Liz Afif Gallery at 53 N. 2nd Street. She put the art gallery business on hold while starting to raise a family with her husband and artist James Kingdon Fisher. Now she is in Phoenixville, PA and starting with a converted screened-in porch. This space serves as an art gallery, and sound studio for narrating her novels, written as M. E. Fisher. The gallery will be open by invitation only and it will serve as a studio to record a podcast that correlates with each exhibition.
