So... I know people still check back here from time to time.

I often think of what will be that next endeavor.
Odyssey was special and also prone to the same industry weaknesses as most LGS...

I'm thinking a game pub/deli/cafe would be best to start planning...
What do you all think?

Oh how I missed being able to curate a space for intelligent and creative pursuit. The whole thing broke me financially to be able to rise again for some time.
Truthfully, I could probably arrange to go into crazy catastrophic debt and do this again. But short of a lucky scratcher, I'm thinking it will be a while.
On the other hand, who knows what will happen..... wheels are still turning.

Odyssey has begun the restructuring; Settling matters remaining and setting new plans. It will take a bit of time to build the right pillars to get back into the community. We're not in a hurry to go in unprepared. We can tell you this:

UPDATE:
So, Odyssey's fight with our former Landlords has been concluded. In the aftermath of the proceedings, we are settled and preparing for new directions.

The fight took a serious toll on our finances, but we are now free to pursue our fate. By agreement we have nothing more to say on the matter in regards to our opponents or their practices.

Odyssey is also reorganizing its structure and preparing for the new world. Jim will take any questions in PMs beyond this post. Hope to see you soon.

I had to turn off reviews for our business page due to harassment from some individuals from a certain very left-leaning community who in their poor critical thought somehow reasoned it would be funny to libel the ownership with false character assassination. Sorry for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: The hearing went very well in our opinion; some really good things are in play. But, it's not quite done yet.
The court has put a stay on more evidence which is fine as we submitted 95% of it. The court also asked that we go to mediation phase before a trial is needed to see if the opposition can be reasonable.

We're skeptical of that idea, but are going to do the meeting. We feel really good and are hoping for a good outcome.

Mediation: October 20th.

Oral argument hearing August 16th, 2017. Stay tuned and we will update afterward with where we think its going next. We like our chances.

UPDATE: Court case still going. We are inundating the court with evidence and support, as well as several legal points that further support the opposition's negligence. Stay Tuned, we just renewed our web hosting.

Jim is now not teaching since school is out, but is returning to classes himself to edify a return to business and things for his back-up career of being a teacher.

Though we are still not positioned well enough to make any moves, we were mulling over locations for the future. It seems the southeast and east valley is satisfied, and the northwest is fairly taken care of as well. Although I'd like to say the northeast is viable, we're not sure if Scottsdale is tenable. There are other factors we've been assessing, nothing is set.

Jim is also releasing materials for superhero RPGs on his own with the help of some friends through RPGNow. The first release linked below is for use with Supers! RPG. It has first class art by Patrick Zircher from DC Comics that Jim has been holding back for a while now! However, Jim got up and designed the entire layout and made it really pretty. Any purchase is appreciated and there will be more to follow as well as conversions of the materials to other systems.

This is important. If you wish to support our court case, and are willing to testify in court if it were to come to that, now is the time to let us know. If you were either witness to: 1) Unresolved leak issues the entire time we were open or 2) A one-month period from June to July of 2016 where our shop had no air conditioning and made conditions unbearable to patron the shop -- You do not have to swear an official affadavit ot appear today. HOWEVER, we would appreciate immensely sending a statement to indicate that you are A) Willing to testify if called, and B) Tell what it is you would testify if called upon in court. THIS IS WHAT WILL HELP MAKE THE CASE STRONGEST. We have them on the ropes. It's about to get to hearings. Odyssey Games, if decisively victorious, will be returning. Thank you in advance. Happy February ~. New Update:
We're still in court. Resources are quite tied up. Lawyers are expensive. However, we're in that cool phase where we disclose proof behind evidence.

This also includes the affirmation of witness statements to support our allegations. We know a few people, close friends, who patroned our shop and knew of the constant failures of the properties. If we have not contacted you directly, but you wish to sign and swear an affadavit confirming either:

*You were witness to the long standing property damages in the form of unrelenting water leakage along half the perimeter of the space which went unresolved for our tenure, and witnessed the damage of any product or fixtures

or

*You were witness to the environmental equipment failure (HVAC/Air Conditioning) of last summer (2016) which delivered our shop the damage to our customer traffic during what should have been a high volume season (June 7th failing, June 11th failed, unresolved by repair until July 11)

We would appreciate this.

In the meantime, Jim is trying to help keep food on the table by teaching junior high science. It's busy work.

Hopefully this next phase goes in our favor. We hope everyone is finding good gaming and look forward to our future.
