I’ve not been silent in my love and appreciation of the incredible band that is The Black Moods, who I feel are the best band to come out of the southwestern United States during this millennium. And you probably know of my great love for Chico, Jordan, and Josh, and the love that they reciprocate back to me.

With this knowledge, I am proud to present a documentary featuring the boys as they navigated the spirit crushing, career displacing nature of the COVID 19 pandemic and its devastating impact on the band, and the music industry in general.

The documentary also features vignettes by Danny Zelisko, Michael Anthony of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, Robin Wilson of the Gin Blossoms, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, and on and on. I’m watching on AppleTV, but I understand it’s available on many other streaming services, including Amazon.

Just a reminder; this show is likely to sell out. You DO NOT want to miss the Tom Keifer Band when they play at the Celebrity Theater on Tuesday, April 2!

My ubertalented friends, and Lords of Rock, Tony Higbee and Jarred Pope, will be blowing off faces here in Phoenix. Tom, known for his days in Cinderella, has written and performed new music which, in my opinion, exceeds the superlatives of his earlier career. One of my very favorite bands in my 51 year history of listening to, and loving, rock music.

Opening are the legends, the L.A. GUNS, featuring another two of my favorite guitarists, TRACII GUNS and , will make your evening complete before Tom and his band even take the stage.

What an honor to pull double duty last night in Holmdel, NJ. The Get Ready rocked a 60 minute opening set and then Lynyrd Skynyrd brought the house down as always, with yours truly filling in for my friend Gary Rossington. Thank you to Skynyrd Nation for the warm reception for Damon Johnson & The Get Ready, and to both bands for the privilege of getting to make music with you.
