🎙️I don’t know if people are really speaking on what they feel… or if it’s become a trend to go in on THEE Tyler Perry about his films. Don’t get me wrong — you’re entitled to your opinion. I definitely have mine. But I have never seen backlash of this magnitude for any other filmmaker, network or studio. And on a consistent basis too.
The main narrative out there is that he tells the same story. Ummm… I’m not sure if folks realize it but that’s the game. Every major studio duplicates, recycles and revamps storylines. Why? Because there’s a market for them. We identify with the characters. We feel connected to them. They make us feel good. This is why we’ve watched the same romcom, the same superhero flick, same thriller, drama and horror plot. They give them a remix and there we are, ready to see ourselves from a different vantage point.
Tyler is a success because like all others— he caters to HIS AUDIENCE. He writes scripts that pull us in, hires actors we wanna see… and he doesn’t care what y’all have to say about it.
