Repositioning water heater expansion tank
Hey all, wondering if this is something that would be reasonable to take on my self or if I should bite the bullet and pay someone to come out for what will be a incredibly easy job for a professional. Already got a quote form a local plumber I use that it would end up costing the $350 per hour service charge + materials, with only 1 hour of service expected.
Looking to add a pocket door here to save some room in a basement bedroom. Expansion tank goes into the wall cavity and either needs to get oriented vertically or rotated enough to clear the eventual door path.
I know vertical orientation is preferred on expansion tanks so may reorient so its vertical while doing this work. I don't have any soldering experience so assuming the fix does require replacing and re-soldering the copper, may just take the profession route for total piece of mind.
can this be done keeping horiztonal orientation without any soldering?
If it rotates toward the right side of the picture, is it too close to the exhaust venting for code/anything else?
