Tonight! Saturday, May 30,2026 showcases an evening of original music and more with James Speiser at 7:30pm at Fiddler's Dream Coffeehouse, 1702 East Glendale Avenue, Phoenix AZ 85020, $10, KN95+ earloop style masks required and provided free. Doors open 7pm. For over 30 years, James Speiser has been creating his own style of music, a mix of jazz, blues, swing, Tex-Mex h***y tonk, Brazilian and Cuban grooves on his Spanish guitar, and Down Home Blues, Americana, and Soul on the National Resophonic Slide Guitar. Born near Chicago, Blues is central to James’ unique sound, but this music has a more than a Latin tinge. He grew from the street corner to gigs, to booking clubs and having a film series/tv show “Blue Roots Denver.” James is now living in Phoenix and we are happy to be having his music at Fiddler’s Dream for the first time!
We will have coffee (strong and fabulous!), teas, Boxed Water, sodas and cocoa! Our commitment to inclusion, community care, and clean air events continue, please join us as we celebrate our 39th Anniversary year of showcasing acoustic music, poetry, and much more in our intimate, listening room space. As a nonprofit and all volunteer organization, we appreciate your support and attendance more than you know! James Speiser Solo

“Haunted Like Human” - Mythology evokes images of gods, titans, demons, and beasts of every kind. Yet, it’s the spark of humanity that keeps us telling and retelling myths. It’s these stories of seduction, inheritance, and hubris that Nashville-based folk duo Haunted Like Human rekindle in the 14 songs on their third album American Mythology. With a background in poetry and prose, Dale Chapman's granular focus on language is simpatico with Cody Clark’s background in classical guitar, where each note carries its own weight. The result is a shapely set of songs that borrow from universal lore in order to reveal intimate truths. The pair prove they write songs like novelists write their books, using careful detail and well-shaped characters to tell even the heaviest of stories. Whatever the topic, the songs shine with restrained arrangements and entwined harmonies. This duo tells stories so well that Haunted Like Human lets the humanity shine through. Praise for their new album, American Mythology: "Through its piercing limericks about human existence in all its shades, from downtrodden tumbleweeds to love-strewn epics, the record arrives at a time when everything feels so hopeless. It's within their art that you can discover slivers of hope that can reignite the thirst for living.” - Rainbow Rodeo. We will have coffee (strong and fabulous!), teas, Boxed Water, sodas. Our commitment to inclusion, community care, and clean air events continue, join us as we celebrate our 39th year of showcasing acoustic music, poetry, and much more!
