Storybook Playhouse Storybook Playhouse adapts storybooks for the stage and performs for local elementary schools. Sessions are limited to 100 students. Who? When? FREE parking! How?

Everything Storybook Playhouse produces for the stage is original material. Each show is created by PVCC students; based upon beloved children’s literature. Performances include: a 40-45 minute show and a post-production talkback between performers and students. Performances are designed for students, ages K-2nd grade. Tuesday and Thursday mornings

PVCC M Building: Black Box Theater, located on the campus of Paradise Valley Community College, is situated on the SE corner of 32nd Street and Union Hills Road in North Phoenix. M Building is located near the 34th Street and Union Hills Rd. entrance into the campus, which is one block west of SR-51 and one mile south of the Loop 101/SR-51 interchange. If ADA/wheelchair seating/services are necessary, please contact the CPA Box Office in advance of the performance for accommodations.

The Theatre Department at Paradise Valley Community College is developing another exciting field trip opportunity for the K-2nd grade classrooms this Spring (April/May) 2023.

One of the things Storybook Playhouse does is to adapt storybooks for the stage and perform for local elementary schools. This coming Spring our production will include a performance with a question-and-answer session as well as a digital packet with pre and post show activities for teachers and students. Tickets are a steal at $2 per student! Teachers are free! Shows happen in the Studio Theatre at PVCC or at your location of choice within a 5 mile radius of PVCC or 10-12 minute travel time!!

Twisted Tales Times Two 2023: Our retelling of classic fairy tales from diverse cultures will have students excited to read and recount the stories as well as determine their central message, lesson, or moral.

TALL TALE COMPETITION 2020:
Set in modern day, the audience will follow a group of storytellers that are competing to win the prize as best storyteller. They have been tasked with telling stories about famous tall tale heroes/heroines--but with a twist. They have to tell stories based on these heroes/heroines but the stories must take place in present day! Stories may focus on characters such as: Pecos Bill and Slue Foot Sue, Casey Jones, Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, etc. Additionally, each story will have two endings and the audience will get a chance to vote on each ending; and the audience will get a chance to vote on which storyteller wins the whole competition!
