Arizona Photography Alliance (AZPA) is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to advance photographic artistry and develop a community in Arizona that creates, critiques, collects and appreciates photography.

Hold the date — We have several exciting events coming up fast!

Saturday, August 1 marks the first day you can submit to our upcoming Juried Theme Gallery, "Summertime." August 1 is also the day our "Seen/Unseen" call opens!

Then, Wednesday, September 9, join us for a tour of "Ecstatic Time: The Alchemy of Photography" at Phoenix Art Museum!

And finally, Monday, October 5, save the date for the Opening Reception of "Seen/Unseen" at Eric Fischl Gallery.

More news to come on each of these events. Watch for it! 💫

Our next Juried Theme Gallery call for entry is coming soon to Café!

Theme: Summertime– Long Days, Lazy Days, Gentle Breezes.

Show us how you interpret and express this subject matter into something interesting through using light, composition and arrangement.

Each member may submit up to 3 images that speaks to the theme.

Submission dates: August 1 – August 16, 2026
Notifications to winners: August 30, 2026
Exhibition opens online: September 1, 2026

Theme Gallery Entry Fee, per call: $25 for AZPA members, $50 non-members. Patron members get one free Theme Gallery call per year; for Benefactor members, all calls are free.

Submissions will be juried by Claire A. Warden, interdisciplinary artist and co-founder of COMO.

The juror will select one image from each submitting member to appear in an online exhibition on the website. The juror will also choose a First Place and two Honorable Mentions for special recognition.

The First-Place awardee will receive $100!

Coming Soon: 'Seen/Unseen' Juried Portfolio Exhibition at Eric Fischl Gallery!

Seen/Unseen invites all the methods, imagination, and styles we use to communicate our ideas through photography. From the tangible world we perceive to the hidden meanings and emotional states we sense. This is a broad call for portfolio-based work open to all AZPA members.

This is an opportunity to present your work in an extended format. Selected applicants will exhibit 3-5 works from a portfolio selected by our juror Emilia Mickevicius, the Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography, a curatorial position shared between Phoenix Art Museum and the Center for Creative Photography.

Submission Dates: August 1 – August 23, 2026
Jury Dates: August 24 – September 5, 2026
Notifications via Café: September 8, 2026
Exhibition Dates: October 5 – October 22, 2026
