We normally try to keep things pretty light on our socials, but we’ll be real: it’s not always easy to do that when everything around us seems so messed up. As a local Arizona theatre company, we want to help keep our community safe. ICE does not keep us safe, and we firmly believe the raids and intimidation happening in our country are unjust. We may be a small company, but we want to do what we can to protect the diversity and culture that make Arizona beautiful.
So this year, Devil’s Dice Productions will be donating 15% of all our ticket, merch, and concession sales to the National Immigrant Justice Center. The NIJC is a US-based organization that works to establish and defend the rights of immigrants regardless of background. By helping provide representation and legal services, the NIJC helps keep families together and prevents members of our community from being deported based on unjust laws and illegal government action.
In addition to donating a portion of our sales throughout the year, we will also be holding a special event in honor of Juneteenth and its history. For our June 19th show, we will only take as much income as we need to break even, and ALL other profits will be donated to the NIJC. We heavily encourage you to attend the show on the 19th and help us support this excellent cause, and we also recommend you check out the National Immigrant Justice Center on your own time and see what they’re doing to make the world a little safer for those in need.
