I have always been interested in materials that can change form, texture, or color. Glass is the perfect medium for my talents. It allows me the freedom to be creative but continues to challenge my abilities. I am forced to practice patience, skill, and focus when working with glass. One of the fascinating things about fusing is that you never know exactly how the finished piece will look. It demands giving up some control to the natural element. The results can be well orchestrated, surprisingly pleasing, or simply a great learning experience. I've been playing with fused glass for over 15 years and specialize in custom pieces that reflect my personality and whimsy. Each piece of art work I create starts with an inspiration. It can be a simple idea, suggestion, even a color palette or textured material that fuels my creativity. I personally select each piece of glass that will be used in the piece. Next, I hand cut all the glass and construct each piece individually from start to finish. Therefore, I give personality and unique design to each item I create. There are no two pieces of art work exactly alike. The project is kiln fused one or more times to get the finished project I envisioned.
