Beat Mecca began as a studio in East PHX. The original name of our platform was “Producers Only ” which was kind of cliche I gotta admit. Our first event was titled “Beat Mecca x Producers Only Presents.”
After our 2nd event I just changed it to Beat Mecca, then after a while we became Beat Mecca PHX and that’s we what we ran with.
Creating a brand starts with you first. Believing in the idea and executing your intention. Nobody has to believe in it, no one has to see it as you do.
Who’s to say your brand isn’t a “real thing.” Create the name then the logo and content to market to your movement. Reinvent yourself as many times as needed but keep up the work.
The inspo behind Beat Mecca PHX was to have a place where local producers could meet up and cook up (which was our studio) • that blossomed into community events to being a consultant at Arizona State University and the J Dilla Music Tech Grant.
Til this day. I never worry about who’s gonna show up. As long as there is producers in the building we are doing what we intended to do. And that was to create a platform for us. 🎹🌵
