Hyottoko - A staple character in Japanese culture. The origin of the name comes from “fire” and “man”.

In the myth and origin of Hyottoko there was a boy that had a strange and bizarre face, who could produce gold out of his belly button.

If someone died in their house, you would place this mask at the top of the fireplace to bring good/better fortune to the house

To me it’s always reminded me to not take life so seriously and laugh as much as you can.

It’s the final week of our art auction & we added more pieces last night!
We are hosting an artist reception this Friday 10/4 in the RAC gallery from 7-10PM and bidding will end promptly at midnight that night.
