The Outreach Technician is the engine behind NCC’s community clay programming — keeping materials moving, kilns firing, and partners supported across the Twin Cities. You’ll provide technical and logistical support for ART@HAND and ClayToGo outreach partnerships, on-site workshops including private parties, and the administrative tasks that keep it all running. Think: wrangling timelines, hauling clay, and being the person everyone can count on.

This position includes the benefit of a complimentary furnished studio space shared with the Kiln & Facilities and Materials Technicians — kiln firing and in-stock materials included (some exceptions and volume restrictions apply).

Join us for our free Empty Bowls Community Clay Workshops and help create handmade ceramic bowls for the 2026 Empty Bowls Fundraiser benefiting the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center.

Each bowl tells a story of compassion, community, and hope. The bowls created during these workshops will be donated and sold at the Empty Bowls event on November 14, helping raise funds to support local families facing food insecurity.

No experience is necessary—just bring your willingness to create and contribute. Whether you’re an experienced artist, curious beginner, or looking for a fun way to give back, there’s a place for you at the table.

The Summer Workshop Exchange with and begins with a corrugation style pottery workshop from on June 6th at 2 pm MDT (1:00 for our Arizona friends.)

Kayenta is an Utah artist using traditional methods and wild clay to create her amazing work. In this online workshop learn the art of corrugation style pottery, an ancient technique used in the American southwest. Corrugation refers to the texture that is created by spiraling and pinching coils to build upwards. Kayenta will demonstrate this technique, share tips and tricks for starting a pot, shaping and then finishing with a rim.
