They are visual reminders of our own ; harbingers of time. Exploring the Saguaro as subject, Andy Brown perpetually seeks to express time in his work. How we it, it, it. The moments we let it go, are present in it, and leave it to chance. We all seek more time. We all lack what Saguaros inherently have. structured motifs with free-form movements, he asks us to move through his compositions with attention to , multiple , and of space. In these painted patterns, patterns of time reveal themselves. The spaces between and , between our regimented lives and our down time. morphing into forms. The mark of three seconds of spray paint flowing over the canvas as it drips over the Saguaro, obscuring our view but revealing another.
