It has been suggested that I make some more horses so I found a few toy horses at a thrift store. My initial thoughts are the blue one (10.5” tall) will be silver and turquoise and I’m leaning towards making the black one (20” tall) all black, but haven’t decided yet. If you have any thoughts, let me know. Take care

I’m often ask how long it takes to make a piece of art. It’s hard to say how long one piece takes because I generally have multiple pieces going at once. For larger pieces, I work on them on and off for months. Sometimes I get bored working on the same piece, sometimes I just need to source materials. Also, I estimate I spend at least 5 hours a week looking for stuff and more time cleaning and sorting what I find. Attached are a few pictures of my Phoenix studio. You’ll see lots of clear plastic bins, unfinished pieces, finished pieces and my dog Bear looking to see if he can get to the door through the mess. Take care and have a great week.

I’m working on pieces for my Spotlight Show at the Mountain Artists Guild Gallery later this year. One of the first pieces I’ve finished is the transformation of a toy horse. She is 19.5” tall and her name is Josie. I started by collaging it with Archie comics, then added rusty objects and some bling. Yes her tail is a rusty bike chain.
