Dear Aside Theatre Company Patrons and Community,
Sadly, we must announce the cancellation of scheduled performances to avoid the potential spread of COVID-19.
This decision was made with your safety and wellbeing in mind. It is a difficult decision because of our commitment to bring you consistent, quality, fringe, minimalist, paradigm challenging work, but it was easy once all the information was clearly presented to us. We've been paying close attention to the situation and have deemed that we can no longer open our theater to the public until further notice.
As of today, we are canceling the following scheduled events:
All remaining performances of Rosemary's Baby Goes to High School by Paco Jose Madden, as well as the March editions of Valley Variety, Stop! Silence! Now!, The Playreads, Community Day (including The Film and Theatre Artist's Breakfast Club of Phoenix, The Playwrites, Creativity Workshop, Acting Classes, Phoenix has Talent) , ATCo Roundtable, Movement Workshops, Peanut Butter and Jam, New Phases Open Auditions and Introductions, have all been canceled until further notice.
33 Swoons by Anton Chekhov has been postponed indefinitely and is now pending rescheduling or cancelation.
Billy's Iguana by Christopher Danowski has been postponed indefinitely and is now pending rescheduling or cancelation.
The Festival of Shorts by Various Authors has been postponed indefinitely and is now pending rescheduling.
Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan has been postponed indefinitely and is now pending rescheduling or cancelation.
These cancelations mean it will be a difficult time for us at Aside Theatre, for our sponsor Urban Beans, and our rehearsal space, PHX Artlab. We will still be paying for these sacred spaces while the world wrests with the virus and hopefully also finds time to rest. We need the continued support of our entire community to continue providing the art and opportunities we have previously enjoyed.
Your donations, tickets already purchased, and your word of mouth are just a few suggested ways that you can contribute and support our underground arts community in Phoenix.
If you've enjoyed our projects and presentations so far, please consider making a donation today.
You can make a monthly or one-time tax-deductible donation right now by visiting: https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/aside-theatre-company/general_support
If you've already bought tickets, please be patient. we will be doing what we can to get in touch and sort things out. If you have questions, you can reach out to us at [email protected], but please consider allowing us to reach out to you, our workload hasn't become less due to this situation it's only shifted, and we will do our best to make you a happy patron.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel J. Burns, Founder and Producing Artistic Director
